The Druid’s Idol

The Druid’s Idol, Brimham Rocks

The Druid’s Idol, estimated to weigh over 200 tons, balances precariously on a tiny support – it’s been this way for many years – hard to believe it won’t fall over with the lightest breeze, but still it stands!

Brimham Rocks – such a magical and otherworldly place. Pillars of the most deformed gritstone imaginable are scattered across the top of this hill in Yorkshire – hard to believe these were carved by water in times gone by. It’s well worth a visit to this National Trust site.
